We, as a family, are passionate about animal welfare. As vegetarians/ vegans, animals have always been a huge priority to us and we have always owned dogs, cats and an array of small animals! Currently, we have a family of four dogs, who are all rescues from either the UK, Greece or Romania.
Jane was first inspired into grooming just over 10 years ago, when her Jack Russell/Terrier needed a good groom but had separation anxiety. She decided to enroll in a City and Guilds Dog Grooming Course so that she could learn to groom and manage her own dog Ted. Jane fell in love with grooming, feeling rewarded by a before and after result and a happy dog, and couldn't think of anything better than spending her days with dogs.
We believe we are much more than just a 'dog groomers'. We are a warm, friendly, dog-loving staff, who want to create a stress-free and positive experience for your lovely pooch. We speak with you as the owner and get to know your dog, working around them and their needs on a personal level.
We listen to you as the customer about what you want for your dog. Do they need a puppy cut? A breed-related cut? Is the groom for a senior dog who just needs to be comfortable? Is it for a swamp-monster, who loves nothing more than rolling around in mud? Or are you a busy-bee and need your dog's coat to be nice and short and easy to manage? Either way, we will discuss practicalities and match what is best for you and, more importantly, your dog, considering its coat-type or condition of skin.
Under The Animal Welfare Act, owners have a legal duty to meet the 'Five Welfare Needs' of their pets, and whilst in our care, Dog Groomers must also share the same responsibility.
we provide a safe, hygienic environment for your dog.
we provide your dog with fresh drinking water and healthy vegan treats.
we allow your dog to have regular breaks and groom at a pace suitable for them.
we groom on a personal one-to-one basis, unless your dog feels more comfortable being groomed with another family dog.
we do not cage dogs or use heated cages and ensure they are handled safely. All equipment is sterilised before use.
The Natural Pet Shop is exactly 'what it says on the tin', as the expression goes. We are passionate about the use of natural products on our canine friends; dog shampoos and soap bars are free from SLS, SLES and parabens and scented with dog-friendly essential oils.
We only source products through companies that have the same ethics and vision as we do. In our store, we sell the same grooming products that we use ourselves. Our Beco products are environmentally friendly, sustainable and recyclable. They use natural rubber husk, hemp and recycled bottles to create their toys, as well as natural BPA free bamboo for their dog bowls.
